This was my third film for the Pens To Lens student screenwriting festival. The script for this film was written by two 7th grade students. I was interested in the deeper themes of masculinity and authority than you usually find in kids’ writing. The robot character was engineered to have many functional parts, including a mechanical pumping heart and spinning gears for a brain.

His arms were driven by splines and had a unique shader allowing them to grow cartoonishly long without breaking the illusion of photorealism. I also learned Maya’s nCloth system pretty deeply in order to show him putting on, wearing, tearing, and sewing up a dress.
